The NDAA

As few on you know on the 31st on December 2011 Barack Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act which basically entitles the government to detain any American Citizen indefinitely without charge or trail  which violates one of the basic and fundamental rights there are, the human rights. This law that the President signed makes US no better than China with their oppression of Tibet, I mean how did he come to the conclusion that it should be a law?! It pushes the states into dictatorship more and more, this means that Obama can detain his opponent in the presidential election and therefore stay as the top man in the country till he dies. Even though he said his "administration" won't use this law, we are not sure whether he will abide with his promise although history will tell us that most probably he won't.
Right now I live in Europe and until couple of weeks ago I always thought in the future I would move to the "land of the free" for at least couple of years as I always welcomed the thought of the possibilities that accompany corporate America but now? I don't know about you but I wouldn't like to live in fear that I could be put into Guantanamo Bay type of prison for the rest of my life for an unknown reason and without a chance of ever returning to a normal life that I once led.
Obama promised to close GB and to end America's violation of human rights but now it seems he made it much worse by turning on his citizens, I think Obama might turn out to be one of the worst decisions America made well except Bush.

However I'm not an American and I don't live in the US so I would be really interested in opinion's of those that do. So leave a comment and let me know.

  5. America hasn't been the land of the free for decades! People think it's a democracy but no matter who you vote for you get more of the same and people gradually lose all the liberties their ancestors have been fighting for. So sad to see such a great empire fall down like this; glad I don't live there.

  7. This, SOPA, the Protect IP act, etc. all seem like bullshit moneymaking schemes which are created to further oppress the average person to me. If they pass, I will lose even more faith in humanity. Ron Paul 2012!

  9. As a US citizen, it's concerning. I really hope that it's not used as some suspect it might.

  12. I never understood how you can say "land of the free" when there are only 2 partys to choose from when you vote. Maybe you should move to a more.... "unpopular" land like Canada or Switzerland where no one even thinks about laying a finger on human rights.

  16. As an American...Obama makes me sick. He bashed Bush the entire time he was running, and now he's do what he did, and more! So much for hope and change...

  17. Yes, it bothers me some, but I figure I live a pretty average and moral life so I don't have much to worry about. I think many people blow it out of proportion.

  19. It's sad how few Americans actually even knew about this. Now we have the bloody SOPA bill trying to pass. -_-
